How Your Artwork Becomes Part of an artradie Collection
To maintain a dynamic and engaging platform for collectors, artradie operates on a structured, seasonal exhibition cycle. We help independent New Zealand visual artists to handle the entire lifecycle of selling an artwork, from digital presentation and targeted marketing to secure sales administration and order fulfilment.
Below is a breakdown of the artradie Collection Cycle, outlining the artist journey from initial submission to a successful sale.
The artradie Collection Cycle
1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI):
Complete our straightforward online submission form to introduce yourself and your work. This sets up your primary Artist Profile in our system.
2. Receive Your Submission Pack:
Once your interest is logged, we will send you an official Submission Pack containing everything you need to know, including the artradie Artist Agreement and detailed photography requirements.
You can then upload specific artworks for curatorial consideration.
3. Collection Launch:
Team artradie personally reviews all entries to ensure a balanced, high-quality presentation. Once selected, your work is professionally launched on the artradie website as part of a fresh collection, backed by targeted marketing and audience promotion. (Note: You retain ownership and keep the artwork safely in your studio until it sells).
4. Art Sales Processed:
When your artwork sells, we handle the secure checkout transaction and manage all customer inquiries. We notify you immediately and act as the buyer’s sole point of contact to ensure a smooth, professional fulfilment process.
5. Artist Payouts:
Once the artwork is successfully delivered and our 7-day customer verification window is complete, your funds are transferred directly to your bank account. You receive 75% of the retail price, and artradie retains a flat 25% service fee (plus GST) to cover platform operations, marketing, and sales administration.
6. End-of-Season Auction:
To maintain a dynamic rotation across our 26-week calendar cycle, any artwork reaching the end of its active exposure window without a sale may be entered into a special online auction organised by artradie. This is entirely optional and subject to your permission and a pre-agreed reserve price.
7. New Collection Launched:
Because you are already an approved artradie artist, you do not need to reapply for future seasons. Your profile stays on file, allowing you to seamlessly submit new pieces whenever the next intake window opens, restarting the cycle.

Our curatorial team reviews every submission and update you. Once you’re an approved artradie artist, you won’t need to reapply. You’ll be able to submit new artworks whenever future collection submissions open.
