Great artwork deserves excellent presentation. Because our buyers look at and purchase art online, the quality of your photographs and the accuracy of your descriptions are vital. They give collectors the confidence they need to make a purchasing decision.

These guidelines outline exactly what we require when you submit your work for consideration, ensuring your art is presented at its best.

1. Original Artwork

All submitted works must be original works created by you.

You must own all copyright and have the legal right to sell the artwork.

If the work is part of a limited edition, this must be clearly stated.

 

2. Image Requirements

Excellent photography is essential.

Images should accurately represent the artwork in terms of:

  • colour
  • texture
  • detail
  • scale
  • framing

Avoid filters or excessive editing.

 
File Specifications:

Preferred file type: JPEG (.jpg)

Minimum image size: 2500 pixels on the longest side

Preferred: 3500–5000 pixels

File size: Between 3-5 MB; maximum 10MB

Colour Profile: Please ensure all images are saved in the sRGB colour space. (sRGB is the standard digital colour format used by the internet; saving your files this way ensures the colours of your artwork look accurate and vibrant on all screens.)

 

3. Required Photographs

For every artwork, please provide:

Image 1 – Main Image

Straight-on photograph – front face.

The artwork should fill most of the frame, have no distracting background, and be photographed in good natural lighting.

Photograph the artwork exactly as it will be sold. 

Image 2 – Angle View

Photographed from a slight angle to show depth and texture.

Image 3 – Close-up Detail

Show brushwork, texture or important details.

Optional Images

  • Back of artwork
  • Signature (for authenticity)
  • Framing detail
  • Edition number (if relevant)

 

4. Lighting

Use natural daylight whenever possible.

Avoid:

  • flash
  • strong shadows
  • yellow indoor lighting
  • mixed lighting
  • reflections

 

5. Image Editing

Permitted:

  • cropping
  • straightening
  • minor exposure adjustment
  • minor white balance correction

Not permitted:

  • adding filters
  • changing colours
  • removing artwork imperfections
  • digitally altering the artwork, including AI enhancement

6. Artwork Information

Each artwork submission needs to include:

  • Artwork title
  • Year created
  • Medium
  • Dimensions (Height × Width × Depth)
  • Weight (if known)
  • Framed or unframed
  • Retail price (NZD)
  • Edition details (if applicable)

7. Pricing

Prices should be in New Zealand dollars and reflect the artwork’s normal selling price.

Prices should remain consistent across galleries and your own website.

Frequent price differences may result in artworks being declined.


10. Before You Submit

Please check:

✓ Images are sharp.

✓ Colours are accurate.

✓ Measurements are correct.

✓ Price is correct.

✓ Artwork is available.

✓ Images contain no watermarks or logos.

✓ You own the copyright.
